EVAS ANKARA - REFURBISHMENT

Over the years all steel cylinders are eventually affected from tough handling, exhausting carriage and environmental conditions that lead to dents, bends and rust due to corrosive surface on cylinders.

These cylinders need standardized inspection and control in certain periods upon environmental conditions and handling in each market.

Cylinders collected from distribution from all over Turkey are gathered in EVAS ANKARA-Refurbishment facility to be subject to inspection according to TS EN 1440 standards. As this is a highly sensitive process, all incoming cylinders are securely handled and individually controlled to help a sustainable and reliable service for LPG distribution companies.

INCOMING CONTROL

Incoming cylinders are controlled one by one and determined if they are eligible for repair process or not.

Defective cylinders collected from distribution are accepted in EVAS facility only after purified from its LPG content in filling facilities by internally rinse with water.

INITIAL SHOT-BLASTING MACRO EXAMINATION

Initially cylinders are subject to shot blasting to smooth surface for macro examination. Accordingly they are subject to visual control in order to determine if subject cylinder will be discarded from system or will be repaired.

MARKING OF REPAIR POINTS & CHANGE OF COMPONENTS

 

Once a cylinder is accepted to process, it will follow below operations:

  • Marking points defected cylinders
  • Straighten of foot-ring and valve guard
  • Inexpiable foot-rings/shroud are subject to;
    • Cut from body
    • Grind of body
    • Weld to body
   

CORRECTION OPERATIONS BY INFLATING AND WELDING

In case of observation any cracks, thinning and pore on joint part of valve guard and foot-ring, correction are made by welding.
Correction of dents on the surface of the cylinder is made by inflating high pressured air and application of local heat to surface.

HEAT TREATMENT & HYDROSTATIC TEST

All repaired cylinders are subject to heat treatment and followed by hydrostatic testing to ensure comply of conditions for filling process.

SURFACE PREPARATION & FINISHING LINE

Surface preparation start with shot blasting followed by zinc coating, primary anti-corrosive paint application and final paint layer.

Finishing line continues with valve thread dent cleaning, internal cleaning & control followed by valve fitting.

At the end all cylinders with valves are subject to air leakage test followed by vacuum application to ensure safe use.
